What if a Train Went Over a Quarter?
Many of us have heard the myth that a quarter (or any other coin) has the ability to derail a train. And while this myth has been proven to be incorrect by engineers, doing anything near a locomotive is a dangerous idea.
This person's quarter fell onto a train track and was completely flattened by an oncoming train. Strangely enough, the only part of the quarter not to become completely distorted were the words "In God We Trust." Let's hope they learned to stay away from moving trains!

If you've ever purchased a bottle of super glue, only to use it once before finding it completely dried out, then you would agree that these bottles are simply poorly designed.
It seems that the glue begins drying within the bottle almost instantly, making the idea of using it again practically impossible. This person found that all of the glue had completely hardened inside the bottle, becoming an almost glass-like statue in the shape of its container. Pretty cool, but we're sure they wished the glue would have lasted longer.
What if You Accidentally Washed and Dried a Chapstick?
During colder months, leaving the house without some sort of lip balm or chapstick is a recipe for painfully chapped lips. This person wisely put a chapstick in their pocket for the cold weather but unwisely forgot to remove it from their pocket before doing the wash.
While the chapstick surprisingly stayed intact, it took on quite a strange shape, probably due to the high temperatures in the washing and drying machine. They're just lucky the waxy substance didn't melt and leak all over their clothing!

Forests, especially rainforests, are home to thousands of unique species of animals, plants, insects, and other living things. Unfortunately, some of these forests are found near rivers and lakes that have the potential to flood. This picture was taken in a nature reserve in Matto Grosso do Sul in Brazil.
It shows what happens when the entire nature reserve is inundated with water. And while we admire this person taking footage of this incredible event, we don't think we would be quick to jump into that water!
What if You Forgot to Add Water to Microwaveable Noodles?
Call it laziness or lack of time, but when it comes to preparing dinner, many of us turn to pre-made meals or meals that require the least amount of effort possible.
You would think that microwaveable noodles would be pretty hard to mess up, considering all you have to do is add water to them and microwave, but apparently, it's more challenging than it looks. This person got the microwaving part down, but they forgot to add the water resulting in this charred mess.
What if Something Was Planted in a Leaf-Shaped Tray?
Considering how particular and fragile most houseplants are, it's always incredible to see how much more resistant other plants are when left alone. This person planted many seeds in a leaf-shaped plastic container and later came back to find that the roots of the plant had taken on the shape of the container.
Because water probably pooled at the bottom of the container, it's not surprising that the roots took on the same pattern as the grooves of the plastic dish.
What if You Microwaved Bird Seed?
While microwaving bird seed isn't the most common thing, this person thought that they would be able to microwave it before trying to put it in a homemade warm-up pillow (like the ones you microwave and then hug during cold winter nights). Unfortunately, their plan went well… for the birds.

This not-so-smart person was apparently absent that day in class when they learned about kitchen safety and decided to microwave the cup anyway. While the cup thankfully didn't melt all over the microwave, it did warp into the strange shape in the picture. We just hope they didn't drink out of it!

When it comes to microwaving food, many of us wait impatiently near the microwave, even running to pull our food out before the beep. This person, however, must not have been that hungry because they simply left their pasta dish for a week in the microwave!
While we're sure that this bowl of pasta once looked appetizing, that was simply not the case when they came back to find this moldy mess. We can't imagine what that microwave smelled like!

While most people will argue that different types of water are more of a marketing scheme, this is real proof that filtered water is simply different and even better to use when making ice.

While both are safe to use, we think we would prefer the clear ones.

It seems that the higher the voltage is, the brighter the color of the metal becomes. Considering the wide spectrum of colors that are created using this method, we're not surprised that colored titanium jewelry is so popular!
What if You Left a Can of Coke Outside for Three Years?
We all know that we shouldn't litter, and one reason why is that these man-made objects remain in the environment for years or even decades. This person wanted to see what would happen if they left a can of coke exposed to the sun for three years.
The result was that while the general form of the can remained intact, the color on the label faded to gold. At first glance, we actually thought that this might just be a limited-edition flavor of coke!

Though most of us just use a small piece of tin foil when preparing food, we never really realize just how much tin foil there is actually in the box.
This person decided to see what would happen if they pulled out the entire roll of aluminum foil and rolled it into one giant ball. While we're pretty curious how they got the ball to be completely smooth, we don't we will replicate the experiment. We'll stick to using our tin foil in the kitchen only for now.

We've all heard it's a "dog eat dog" world, but it seems in this rainforest, it's a "frog eat snake" type of world. This unfortunate snake found itself the dinner of this large frog, but it seems that the snake is still alive and even posing for this picture.
The frog must have simply grabbed this snake as it was still slithering around. We guess that with some careful maneuvering, this snake might just find itself off the menu and on the way to freedom!
What if You Froze a Balloon Filled With Water and Food Coloring?
This person thought that if she had to live somewhere with freezing temperatures, she might as well find a way to have fun. She filled differently-shaped balloons with water and swirls of food coloring and left them outside in the freezing weather. This is how she was able to create these impressive statues of ice.
We're sure that venturing outside in below-zero temperatures while holding large balloons filled with water isn't the best idea, but the results are definitely worth it!

Many of us have seen bonsai trees, but few probably know that almost any type of shrub or tree can be pruned in a way that the plant becomes a bonsai. After about five to ten years of pruning the plant's roots and foliage, the tree or shrub is dwarfed.
This bonsai was made using an apple tree, and somehow an actual apple was able to grow! Looking at the size of the tree in comparison to the apple, it's amazing to see how something so small could produce something so large.

It may sound bad, but many of us put off going to the mechanic until our car starts making strange noises. This person thought that their car would be just fine without having to get the oil changed… for 84,000 miles!
Generally speaking, car owners should get their oil changed every three to ten thousand miles depending on the type of car. This mechanic shared this shocking picture of what they found under the hood of this car as a warning — get your oil changed!
What if You Poured Hot Bacon Grease Into a Plastic Cup?
When it comes to disposing of hot oil, you probably shouldn't pour it into a thin plastic disposable cup. This person thought a "cup is a cup" when they poured boiling hot bacon grease into this red cup, instantly melting and shrinking it.
We're actually surprised that their foolish behavior didn't make a bigger mess or burn the tablecloth it's on! They could have at least waited for the grease to cool and then poured it into that red plastic.

While many of us can't get enough of our vegetables, there are still some people who refuse to eat them. Those people might be happy to know what happens to broccoli when it doesn't end up on our plates.
It turns out that the broccoli plant, which is related to the cabbage, is full of tiny florets that, when left untouched, blossom into beautiful flowers. This picture actually makes us want to leave the broccoli plants alone so that we can see them bloom into these pretty yellow bouquets.

Considering how important trees are for the environment, it's no surprise that people are actively trying to plant trees. But planting a tree is hard work and requires special shovels and other tools.
This person shared just how much of a toll it has taken on his shovel. In fact, all of that wear and tear has even shaved off a few inches from his shovel. While he's probably not too happy to have to buy a new shovel, we're sure that he's proud of his hard work in helping the environment.
