How Long Should a School Day Be?
Educational researchers believe that a home school day should only be 2 – 3 hours long; however, most experts agree that an overall structure is necessary for home education to be effective. One of the most common reasons for homeschooling is increasing concerns about the current ‘environment’ in schools. Parents who decide to home-school their kids are usually very unsatisfied with what their kids are exposed to and the lack of personal expresion that is, in their view, taken away.

Who is Home Schooled?
The majority of home-schooled children come from two-parent and low-to-medium-income families, and has become a rising trend in ethnic-minority families. It all started in the 1960s and 1970s as an aftermath of alternative cultural movements, especially with the removal of religious instruction in public schools, and in 1993, the right to homeschooling was granted to parents in all 50 states in America. Many home-schooling parents join or form co-ops to support like-minded parents and families together with their own set of laws that are separate from private and public school laws.

No Degree is Needed
Parents are not required to have an exceptional degree to qualify for homeschooling; anyone can decide if it is the right way for their family. Parents can follow individual home-schooling techniques in the same way that children have different learning styles. From traditional methods with desks and testing methods to the Charlotte Mason method of immersive learning environments.
