On December 15, 2005, Katie Holmes arrived at Barney's in a long and lavish red coat, hiding, as she often does, a pair of jeans. She didn't disappoint us. She left her boring sneakers behind and instead put on a pair of pointed camel oxford shoes. She couldn't have made a better choice than adding to her look a simple white sweater that looked just as impressive when she went indoors and took the long coat off.
You would have thought that a side bag or shoulder trackback would look best for this outfit, however, the small and modern clutch Holmes decided to bring along makes the perfect companion for a classic and sophisticated mid-day appearance.
Pulp Fiction
We are not sure what we enjoy looking at more. The clothes Katie chose to wear or the exquisite haircut that went along with it. This photo was taken on January 14, 2008, four years before they divorced, when the couple was still going hot. The family was just leaving their hotel and on their way to dinner when they stopped by a crowd of paparazzi photographers.
Katie's white silk shirt, paired with simple yet classic black pants, said it all. She didn't need more to look absolutely marvelous. The bead neckless in gold and amber spiced up her appearance, which was already young, fresh, and attractive.
Is That a Coat?
Here are the former Hollywood couple on one of their evening walks in the Big Apple. We are not sure what time of day this photo was taken or if the dark sunglasses were a must, but the way we see it, they both had to leave the shades behind. The coat Katie had on was hiding the elegant black outfit she had worn that day.
You can never go wrong with a black turtleneck dress paired with black leather gloves and dramatic high heels. If it wasn't for the bathrobe-like overcoat, we could have summed this up by saying that Holmes always appears to look so up-to-date, exciting, and beautiful.
Piggy Slippers
Katie Holmes is many times seen in outfits that any ordinary mom would wear when taking her child to a playground. The star was caught holding her daughter on April 8, 2010, in New York City, just as they were on their way to a playground.
What we love about it is that she gets away with it, and even if her clothes are simple, she still looks like a million dollars. Denim overalls over a simple tea shirt, together with a chalk black blaser, what more do you need? The Oxford shoes Katie seems to wear quite often perfectly complement the piggy slippers Suri has on.
You Are a Star
When you are a star, we expect you to dress like a star, and excuse us when we say that a pair of skinny jeans, a striped shirt, and an old gray cardigan is in no way a star. Katie Holmes is gorgeous no matter what she wears. However, we must say that she was caught not having a very good day.
Even the boots are uninspired, and the red bag could have been replaced by a backpack or a small black side pouch. We suppose this is yet again one of Katie's ways to get out of the paparazzi's eye and try to blend in with the crowds.
Skipping in New York
Nothing can be more adorable than a little girl jumping over puddles while holding her mother's hand. Katie Holmes and her adorable Suri were spotted walking the streets of New York on November 12, 2012. This is not the first time we catch Holmes with the dated red bag, and if it wasn't for it, we could have wrapped up our criticism on a positive note.
The flats go great with the length of the skirt Katie is wearing, and the denim jacket was the perfect choice for the striped shirt. We must insist she chooses smaller and more natural-colored bags so that they work better with what she wears and don't stand out, unlinked to anything.
Celebrity Chic
Katie is glamorous, Katie is stunning, and this photo proves it all. In 2015, Holmes arrived at the Zac Posen fashion show with a marvelous 1940-inspired appearance, a guarantee to get all of the attention in the room. The mouth-dropping red coat was designed by Zac Posen, delivering a stylish, feminine, and strong creation.
Katie chose a bright shade of lipstick that only enhanced the beauty of her outfit, and her pompadour hairstyle completed the vintage and glamorous look. She couldn't have chosen better than a pair of classic black heels, turning this into one of Katie's most inspirational and impressive looks.
Pretty in (Hot) Pink
This next outfit that the star was seen wearing in March 2015 is unique. Katie Holmes is wearing a top and skirt duo with an interesting Chinese influences print. You would expect this to be in red, as red is a very common color in Chinese ateliers. However, the designers chose to go pink, and not just pink — hot pink.
We are not 100% sure about the flesh barrier between the skirt and the top. However, we assume it is all a matter of taste and opinion. The length is perfect and flatters the star tremendously, and the neckline is definitely, like the actress, one of a kind.
A Good Morning
When Katie Holmes made a guest appearance on "Good Morning America" in 2015, fashion-wise, it was definitely a good morning. The actress was on the show to promote her role in the third season of the show "Ray Donovan." The outfit Holmes wore was driven out of the Zac Posen Pre-Fall collection and featured a metallic top and leather pants, looking absolutely stunning.
The deep pleats of the pants help refine the silhouette of the design, and the Christian Louboutin ‘True Blue’ sandals round up the look in style and chic. Holmes is holding a Ricky bag from Ralph Lauren's house, which works great and adds to her overall prestige.
Central Park
In this next photo, Katie Holmes was seen minding her own business in Central Park, New York, on October 22, 2015. Holmes is wearing a long black coat that seems to be covering a black sweater and a pair of black jeans. The shades on her eyes are black, and it appears to be that her mood is black, too.
Katie completed her casual look with her classic white sneakers because when you are out and about, the most important thing is to be comfortable. We happen to adore simplicity, even when considering first-class stars like Holmes. She can definitely afford to be seen in casual clothes.

This next photo was taken in 2016 in Soho. Holmes is seen in her everyday jeans, flat black ballerina shoes, and wrapped up in a black puffer coat. Underneath the puffer coat hides a cream-colored sweater to keep her warm in the cold weather.
Katie was seen carrying two bags, and we couldn't stop thinking about what she had in them. Our initial guess would be that she is on a shopping spree trying to freshen up her winter wardrobe, which is a great idea because, according to what she has on here, it would be nice to spice things up.

April 18, 2016. Soho. Katie Holmes is on her way to the 11th annual Tribeca Film Festival dinner, and with no doubt, she has come a long way since her break up from Tom Cruise. The sleeveless black blouse was stunning when paired with high-waisted sequin pants, all designed by no less than Chanel. The event attracted big names such as Chloe Sevigny and Robert DeNiro, however, when appearing in an outfit like this, she outshone them all.
Earlier that same morning, Katie celebrated her daughter's 10th birthday party, announcing the big day on her Instagram account. Katie posted, "So grateful for my favorite day of the year!!!!!! Happy Birthday to my sweet angel Suri,” she wrote.
Honey
On a hot July summer day, Katie and her daughter were seen walking their beloved Chihuahua, Honey, together with a few friends. Besides an extra large Starbucks tall spicy vanilla skimmed soy cappuccino, Katie is wearing a light denim shirt together with a pair of floral short shorts.
The golden braided flip-flops splash in a little style, however, there is a limit to what accessories or shoes can do. Hiding behind a pair of dark sunglasses will not make this bad fashion statement disappear, and we are comforted by the many more meticulous fashion moments we have seen Holmes in.
A Smile That Says It All
In October 2016, Katie Holmes accompanied Quaker for their new campaign, introducing a new recipe every day during that month. Holmes is a huge oats fan, and it is her preferred breakfast choice. She arrived for the big oats celebration in a cream turtle neck sweater and a Bordeaux leather mini skirt, all wrapped in a gorgeous camel-colored mid-length coat.
The small slit in the skirt gave her appearance a touch of mystery and interest, and her soft and almost childish smile brought it all to perfection. Katie has wonderful taste in clothes. She flawlessly coordinates the colors in her outfits, and she always looks super classic and charming.
She Wore Polka Dots
Another great outfit, not only for an A-list star walking the streets of New York but definitely one we can all adopt during the spring or fall. The thin navy blue sweater fits perfectly with the long blue polka dot skirt, featuring a long slit to reveal her leg.
Those who are paying attention and looking into all the details of Katie's outfit must have noticed one of the most exciting parts of what she is wearing. The slit in the skirt is adjustable and, with the help of the zipper, can be made deeper or, for the more modest, zipped all the way down.
Checked Blazer
If you want to look sophisticated and really smart, all you need is a checked blazer that can be worn with almost anything (as long as you get the colors right). In March 2017, Katie Holmes was seen walking in Manhattan wearing a checked blazer in earth shades of mustard, blood orange, cream, and dark brown. This was paired with leather pants in a similar blood-orange color.
Overall, it works and if Katie is happy so are we, however, we do have one issue. Two weeks later, Holmes was seen wearing the exact same blazer, this time with a pair of jeans. Blazers, and specially checked ones, tend to leave a mark in our memory, so we would suggest a six-month gap (at least) between appearances.
Lacy Chanel
For the Chanel Artists Dinner in New York in April of 2017, Katie Holmes wore, as expected, Chanel. She had a Chanel short-sleeved navy cardigan, which could have gone great with a pair of classic navy pants, however, she chose to go with white-lace wide-leg trousers, also by Chanel.
To elevate the neutral and fairly plain colors, Katie added her exciting bronze pump, which turned her look into a complete fashion feast. She looked marvelous, and the fashion critics of that event thought so, too. Even her hair was perfectly styled, with a fresh and fun cut at the right length for the right mood.
All We Can Say Is Wow
Zac Posen is one of Katie Holmes's favorite designers, and by this astonishing dress, we can see why. There is no other word to describe this except for WOW. For the American Ballette, in the spring of 2017, the star arrived in a red embroidered lace strapless dress designed, obviously, by Posen. She matched the gown with Gianvito Rossi Cribe sandals, which brought her appearance to perfection.
Katie didn't need any exquisite jewelry, and even the earrings she wore were relatively modest, not in price but in appearance. Behind Katie are Kathleen Hurley and Katie's mother, Kathleen Stothers, who arrived at the event with the star, wearing subtle and soft colors, making Holmes shine even more.
Smelling Good
For the 2017 Fragrance Foundation Awards, Katie Holmes was unsurprisingly in a Zac Posen dress. She is his inspiration in many ways, and we must admit that she delivers — his creations couldn't look better on anyone else. To the black carpet, Holmes arrived in a white crepe embroidered gown adorned with beads.
It was a sleeveless dress with a fluted floor-length skirt. It seems that Katie Holmes and Zac Posen are a perfect match. Some may say there was too much fabric following the star from behind. However, the delicate gold jewelry and her choice of hairstyle made us forget all about it.
There She Was, Walking Down the Street
This is one of the few paparazzi photos of Katie Holmes taken when she was walking down the street, and she actually managed to put on a smile for the photographer. It took us a while to understand if we were looking at one badly designed overall or if this was a set of tops and pants still badly designed.
After realizing the latter was what Holmes had on, we must admit that the more we looked at it, the more we were able to embrace it, and we started to feel that it wasn't all that bad. The white sneakers balanced the overall look, and she looked comfortable and relaxed, which is what is most important.
Denim Doll
Katie Holmes loves denim, and we love her in it. In September 2017, on her way to the US Open, the megastar was seen in an exquisite denim jumpsuit perfectly paired with black heels and a gorgeous gray blazer. Etienne Marcel designed the jumpsuit, which gave Holmes an all-American look, keeping things simple yet glamorous.
The tweed blazer Katie had on is what spiced things up for her and turned a casual look into a sophisticated and elegant creation. Katie's natural, beautiful, and comforting smile wrapped things up here and delivered one of our favorite looks of the past decades.
Lace at Lanyu
Not everyone could get away with wearing such delicate fabrics in such fair colors, however, Katie Holmes nailed it when she was seen at the Lanyu fashion show during New York Fashion Week in 2017. Lanyu created an exquisite long-sleeved mini dress in powder blue and white lace paired with nude-colored heels that completed the elegant look.
Katie tied her hair into an updo, the perfect hair choice for the perfect event. This dress is for sure unique, and it feels that it was specifically tailored for the star as it flatters her complexion, compliments her figure, and makes her look even more stunning than she already is.
Winter Wonderful
Looking great in a summer dress is easy, and you don't have to be a megastar like Katie Holmes to do so. However, looking gorgeous in the winter, too, when you have no choice but to wrap yourself in endless layers that cover you all up, well, not everyone can do that.
Holmes is seen here in a classic winter outfit and manages to crack the basic black look with a long camel coat, making her look tall, sophisticated, and (most importantly, in December) warm. The bag Katie was holding was hidden securely underneath her coat, almost away from the camera's eye, presumably because the color wasn't the right choice for such an elegant look.
Stunning in Silver
One of the best things about Fashion Week in the Big Apple is that you get a chance to see your favorite stars wearing the designer's best atelier. Here, we see Katie Holmes in a complete Ralph Lauren look, or in other words, sparkling in silver. The naturally glittering star was sitting in the front row, wrapped in a vintage biker's jacket in metallic silver, which suited the star's new edgy attitude toward life.
One of the best things about what she is wearing is that it all blends, and although not everything is exactly in the same shade, the colors all have the same tone and energy. Ralph Lauren, for sure, made a statement, and so did Katie.
Chic With Chanel
Katie Homes attended the Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner at Balthazar in NYC in a casual but classic look. She looked stunning in a daily pair of jeans, a white top, and a very interesting overjacket. At first, the jacket looks like a torn-up rug, but then you realize the generosity behind this outfit. It's light and flattering, provides a sophisticated flavor to the look, and says so much using so few words.
Katie, with the help of Chanel, delivered an appearance you don't see every day as everyone was expecting an extravagant creation, both from the star and the fashion house. By this, we were able to prove that there are other ways to look fabulous and stand out.
Precious in Purple
Katie Holmes is seen in this next photo wearing a silky, gorgeous purple dress. This was at the Time Warner Center on April 25, 2018. It's hard to see in this image, however, the stunning dress had a round neckline, exposing Holmes's collarbones and stunning figure. No necklace or other heavy jewelry was needed.
The dress was covered by a matching over-jacket featuring delicate white flower ornaments, giving the heavy fabric a splash of delicacy and femininity. As for the shoes, nude-colored heels were the perfect companion for the look. Whoever was responsible for the star's hairstyle chose the perfect cut.
Summer Suit in Black and White
This next entry is fresh out of the Ulla Johnson Spring 2018 collection. The black and white floral top and skirt set are everything you need when attending a prestigious event on a hot summer day, and Katie knew this too when she was invited to the BVLGARI world premiere screening of “The Conductor” and “The Litas.”
The star added a dazzling necklace, a creation by Bvlgari jewelry, which upgraded the relatively simple choice of clothes. Black strapped heels were the perfect companions for the black and white outfit, however, this would work just as well with a pair of flats.
Pretty in Floral
This next floral dress Katie Holmes was seen in while walking down the streets of Manhattan in May 2018 is one of the items we all need in our closets. The spring dress, created by Zimmerman's Radiate Skater, can be worn throughout the summer, being so airy and light. It features billowing sleeves and a loose, off-the-shoulder neckline, which complement the actress tremendously.
Katie chose the perfect accessories to complete her casual look with white sneakers, a Tod handbag, which you can never go wrong with, oversized sunglasses, just in case someone recognizes her, and a wide-brim hat, which seems to work pretty well.
For the Ballet Gala
When you attend the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, no matter for what occasion, you have got to look your best. Zac Posen is the name behind this fabulous creation, which is made of exquisite turquoise silky fabric and decorated with delicate floral ornaments.
The design of the dress was driven out of the 1960s, and we can easily visualize Jackie Kennedy or anyone from the 1960s star list promenading with an outfit like this. Even Holmes's marvelous hairstyle fits in perfectly. It enhances our nostalgic embracement, and with the nude high heels and glittering silver clutch, this has got to be one of our favorites on the list.
A Star in Stripes
A simple striped T-shirt will always remind us of Paris, and we are not alone because, for many, the pattern is associated with fantastic French fashion. Unfortunately for Katie Holmes, in June of 2018, she was not walking the magical streets of the French capital but rather the hot and sweaty paths of New York.
Now, there is more to this outfit than just a plain pair of jeans and a striped top. Katie is making a fashion statement with her Prive Revaux Heroine sunglasses (not French, though still European, which is close enough) and her Cloe Milo black bag.
Come on Vogue
In 2011, Katie Holmes played the role of Jackie Kennedy in the television series "The Kennedys," and we feel that she hasn't said goodbye to the character entirely. In July 2018, Holmes was seen in Manhatten, resembling the late Kenndy more than ever. She wore a simple T-shirt with a below-the-knee skirt (which we love) and a pair of evening flip-flops.
Her classic lady bag and oversized sunglasses delivered a sophisticated yet elegant look, a perfection for daytime dressing. The pencil skirt was a huge hit in the summer of 2018, as many A-list celebs were seen wearing it in one form or another.
Shoulder Free
Katie Holmes was amongst many who attended the Alice+Olivia presentation at the New York Fashion Week in 2018, however, not everyone looked as exquisite as she did. Katie is known for picking the right outfit for the right event, and there was no disappointment here, either. She stunned the audience in a magnificent long white halterneck dress.
The dress, which was shoulder-baring, was clasped behind her neck and flowed all the way down to her shins. Katie kept things simple when it came to her hair design and allowed her natural brown locks to bounce just slightly above her shoulders.
Lady in Red
When we discovered that Katie Holmes and Zac Posen are close friends, it explained why the star makes an effort to make public appearances in his creations. When Katie attended the Harry Winston event in September 2018, she went for Posen yet again, however, this choice wasn't one of her best.
The shoulder element flatters Holmes tremendously, as we've seen before, however, we would expect to see silky and loose material. Instead, we were presented with this. The red dress sits perfectly on her body, however, it doesn't look as expensive as it probably is. Moreso, it feels that it has been stretched to its limits, leaving Holmes anything but comfortable.
So Many Things for Such Little Effort
Katie Holmes doesn't have to do much to dazzle our eyes. She can wear a simple pair of dark jeans together with a cute cream-colored jacket, and she is ready to wow the streets of New York. The secret lies in which accessories you add. For this sophisticated and elegant look, Katie carried her Chanel Gabrielle Hobo bag, which upgraded the simplicity of her clothes.
The star of the show has got to be Gianvito Rossi Vamp Booties. They are picture-perfect and make the star shine. This look could easily be paired with simple sneakers, turning the upperclass appearance into a common casual one.
The Answer Is Blowing in the Wind
We are not quite sure what we are seeing here. Let's start from the bottom and see how high we can go. In this photograph, Katie Holmes is wearing no less than Prada feather-trimmed pants and a matching feather-trimmed blazer.
Without the feathers, this would have probably looked like a gentleman atelier, however, the use of the feather element, which was widely seen in the fall fashion collections of 2018, delivered a touch of femininity, sophistication, and glam. Katie added to her unique look a long golden necklace, a pair of minimalistic black sandals, and a clutch. It seems to all work.
The Great 40
You would have thought that for her 40th birthday, Katie Holmes would have chosen to wear something extravagant and dazzling, but instead, she went for a more casual look, and she still managed to look fabulous. In the winter of 2018, Katie was seen in a pair of plain blue jeans, however, she spiced it up with a great multi-colored cardigan.
The rainbow and just-below-the-knees piece proved to be a refreshing substitute for the classic but dull black winter coat we would have expected to see her in, as Katie is for sure a splash of color in a sea of neutrals.
Suri Is 13
When Katie Holmes went out to celebrate her daughter's 13th birthday, she picked out her clothes carefully, knowing she was going to be paparazzied. She arrived for the grand celebrations in a long cream duster coat, a French striped T-shirt, and cigarette pants. The sunglasses were a must as far as she was concerned, even though it was dark.
We can't ignore the adorable outfit Suri had on, featuring a cute pink dress and a light green jacket accompanied by a blue headband. Suri must have learned something from her mother as she went with a pair of sneakers — an item her mother is often seen in. Although Katie doesn't seem to be in the best of moods in this photo, the birthday girl seemed to be over the moon, which is what is important, right?
Tribeca Film Festival
The next photo was taken when Katie attended the Tribeca Film Festival in 2019. The beautiful star was seen in an aqua-colored silky skirt, a color we must admit would not suit all, together with a matching multi-colored striped top; definitely a unique look and one that we don't see every day.
By the look of it, the fresh air was doing her good. Katie completed her outfit with a brown purse, beige heels, and a great big smile on her face. Her long golden necklaces blended in perfectly and didn't stand out, as if they were a natural part of her atelier.
Perfect Patterned Pants
The secret to wearing patterned pants is knowing what to match them with, and in 2019, just before the Tribeca Film Festival Luncheon opened, Katie Holmes knew exactly what goes with what. Holmes wore a pair of bronze-colored pants with a sewed-in belt ending slightly above her ankles. She matched it with a silky white top and a classic black blazer.
There was no way Katie was going to part from her oversized dark sunglasses and the adorable delicate black heels decorated with a small black bow. As for her bag, personally, we would have chosen a neutral color, but she still looks like a million dollars.
Long Skirt White Blouse
The first thing we recognized in Katie Holmes's May 2019 look was her Gucci Ace sneakers, which Katie seemed to love, and so did we. She is often seen in them, and we have to say that when they are paired with a long skirt and a stylish blouse, they are seen in a different color and in a completely different style.
Personally, we would prefer to see this look accompanied by a cool pair of elegant flip-flops. However, Holmes looks astonishing no matter what she wears, and if Gucci sneakers work for her, then who are we to argue?
Floral Fantastic
When it comes to casual looks and items you wear on a day-to-day basis, there are no rules, even if you are a mega celeb like Katie Holmes. In May 2019, the star was seen walking the streets of New York in a fantastic fresh yellow floral dress.
There is a secret to turning a relatively simple half-sleeve and double-hem dress into one that would be glamorous enough to suit an annual fundraising event. You need to make sure it has a sophisticated black collar and equally classic black lace peep-toe heels. This dress suddenly looks much more than casual and for sure not day-to-day wear.
One of Our Favorites
This next fashion moment has got to be one of Katie Holmes's best casual looks for 2019. The actress was seen on a hot day in August in an adorable Gucci pink sweater, together with a pair of timeless classical mid-rise jeans and white Achilles leather sneakers.
Katie didn't have to add much to spice up the look and settled for a cool leather bag and mysterious sunglasses. The golden bracelet she had on added that touch of spark Hollywood celebs always have and no heavy makeup was needed for her to shine, as she kept things to the minimum.
Super Chic in September 2019
For the Elie Tahari show, which was held in September 2019, Katie Holmes looked exquisite in her cream Elie Tahari cardigan, which was elegantly worn over a denim shirt. The chilly weather outside was perfect for what she was wearing — it was cold enough for layers but not too extreme, and she was able to leave a heavy coat behind.
To complete the look, Holmes went for leather pants and black leather booties. In this outfit, Katie is screaming casual and comfortable. She left the denim shirt's buttons open, revealing a plain white t-shirt and the collection of gentle golden necklaces. Katie, being Katie, couldn't expose herself to the crowds without her sunglasses on, preserving the mysterious and hidden parts of herself.

This design would never look good on anyone else. Overall, the actress looks amazing, and we love what she has on, however, there is some explanation needed.
We tried to figure out where she got the top from and came up with nothing. Then we thought it might have been custom-made, and there is only one piece in the entire world, and it's worn by Katie. Yes, that makes sense.

Let's start from the top. Katie, where did you get that coat? We absolutely love it. It is a Bordeaux Magda Butrym Leather coat that could be worn with so many items, including the Ruffled Blouse she has on. If you wondered about the bag she is holding, it is Strathberry Lana bag, which we have come across before.
Katie stuck to her sharp and sophisticated style and completed the look with wide-leg black pants and classic little booties. We can't hold ourselves from commenting about Emilio Vitolo's atelier. You can never go wrong with going all black except for one item like Vitolo did here with his pants, and in this photo, he seemed to fit Holmes perfectly.
Street Chic
In November 2020, Katie Holmes delivered numerous free-to-watch fashion shows on the streets of New York. Some were good, and some were better, but overall, we have to say that Katie seems to be improving as the years go by. She has become a fashion icon and gave us looks that we have seen being adopted all over the world, which makes us curious as to how she will surprise us next.
What we love about Katie's scenes of fashion is that she takes simple items we can all find in our clothes, a pair of jeans and a denim shirt, and with a splash of color, like the yellow of these cute sandals, she turns a casual appearance into a cover of a magazine.
Bakery Babe
So, while Katie Holmes concentrated on the fresh pastries she was going to bring back home in December 2020, we paid more attention to what she was wearing on that cold winter day. Katie maintained the all-comfortable look and slipped on her favorite black flat booties to compliment her extra wide denim and a classic black fuff coat.

We have seen her in plain jeans, denim shirts and skirts, and even denim shoes. She upgraded the look with a pair of Marni Patchwork Sneakers, which look amazing, although not warn enough. Well, if you want to look good, you must compromise and go with shoes that are inappropriate for the weather.

Then, she brought out her black Birkenstock and completed the average girl look. Apparently, Holmes wore the exact same pair of sandals through the entire summer of that year, making sure she stayed comfortable trying to escape the paparazzi.

The baggy rust-colored pants are the perfect companion to the signature Gucci loafers, which she has in various colors. This is how to take a summer or spring item and make it work with a complete winter look. You can wear open shoes and thin fabrics, however, you must be smart with the way you merge them all. In February 2022 during the New York Fashion Week, Katie Holmes was seen in a black skirt and top which featured a waist tie and puffed sleeves.
The length of the skirt was cleverly chosen, delivering a look that was sophisticated and warm. Holmes didn't have to add more than stud earrings and a golden necklace, making her look beautiful, even when soaking wet.
Hot in Pink
Katie didn't have to pose to the camera the way she did here, and even if she were standing behind a wall, we would still be speechless. This is much more than a white suit and much more than a pair of pink heels. The hot pink high heels are made of silk, which, at the end of the day is a matter of personal taste.
Even if you are not a big fan of the color or the fabric, there is no way anyone could stay oblivious to this. The white suit has stirrup detail on the pants, which threw us back to the 1980s, but here they seem to work. There is no doubt that when Katie left her home this evening, the purpose was to go out there and be seen.
Here Is a Color We Have Never Seen Before
You must agree that this is a unique color to wear. We are still unsure if it is considered peach or tangerine (or possibly even salmon), but whatever you name it, Katie wears it well. The dress is ankle-long and paired with elegant open-toe black heels. She tied her hair back in a loose bun, providing a fresh and sophisticated appearance.
Katie didn't arrive at the Moth Ball Gala empty-handed, and she carried a chic art deco purse in shades of gold and black. There are some dress designs that are too unique for anyone to wear, although this one, which wouldn't work on anyone, seems to work perfectly on Katie.
Red Carpet!
We have got to say it. We have a feeling that Katie Holmes was a little confused on this hot July day in 2022, and instead of walking on the red carpet, she decided to wear it. Although this is not red, it is definitely a carpet.
Katie wore this design for her appearance on "Good Morning America," promoting her movie, "Alone Together." Right out of the Chloé 2022 fall collection, Katie arrived in a recycled tank dress wrapped up with a long poncho. We don't know about you, but we can't see any dress. We can't see a poncho either.

We love seasonal designs when they are in seasonal colors, as this fashion moment would not be the same in any other shade. We can understand that Gothic Glamour may seem as hot and sophisticated, but in our opinion, Tom Ford took things a little too far here.
All it would have taken is for the hood to be removed, and Katie would have found herself in a beautiful and classic black evening dress. The star took her role seriously and added homemade smoky eye makeup and a fringe to frame everything together.

The shoes are solver Marni Pump Heels, and although not quite visible, she has a Katkim Grande Promise Band on, too. The gorgeous blue top works perfectly with the brown Kallmeyer Madelynn Trouser, together with the Tova Aneta coat and the stone earrings. Need we say anymore?
January Blues
There are some outfits that are trendy and fascinating for one moment only, however, there are many clothing items and accessories that are timeless and can be worn year in and year out. This Katie fashion moment is not taken from some grand exhibition she attended or a night out in the Big Apple.
This is another one of her streetwear looks that still make her look like a star. So little effort, yet so much style. The secret is in the little details. The camel-colored pants are perfect for length, and even the rolled-down multi-colored socks have their own chic.

Katie Holmes is not a big lover of animal print on what she wears, however, when she does decide to cross the boundaries and go for one, she nails it. In February 2023, the star shared one of her best winter outfits. This is a Michael Kors creation, and it features wide-leg silky zebra print pants, which were accompanied by a classic black turtleneck top and a well-fitted black blazer.

To us, this is too childish, not sophisticated at all, and definitely has nothing to do with what she has on.

You can't go wrong when you bring black and beige together and the crunched-up sleeves and pockets only enrich the total look. Imagine this outfit with her hair pulled back or letting it stay natural, wavy, and loose. That would have been our choice, anyway.
