Kalettes
The last years of the 20th century introduced us to kale. It has since been merged with Brussels sprouts, and together, they have brought ka letters into the world. As you would assume, it fits perfectly on our green basket. It’s a great addition to healthy shakes and can be eaten in various ways. Add it to your salads, roast it in the oven, or whatever your preference is. Kalettes, with its sweet flavor and nutty aroma, is one new veg you want to add to your menu.
Pineberry
Let’s start with this: the pineberry had no pineapple in it. It may seek the flavor of a pineapple, but it was not used to create this new fruit. The pineberry is a variety of strawberries which boosted the reputation of the berry world. It is sweet with a splash of tartines ( that is where the pine comes from) and has been considered a must in the restaurant industry.

Pluot
Let’s bring on summer as the pluot is all about sea, sand, and sun. It is a cross between two of our favorite summer fruits, the plum and the apricot, and it is carefully making its way into our summer fruit bowl. Like many of the sections summer has to offer, the pluot is sweet but also sour and is best eaten just before it gets a little too soft. Excellent for jam and a delight for your mouth.
Cotton Candy Grapes
Do you think you have tasted all of the variety of grapes your green prices have to offer? Think again. There is a new kid in town, and its name is Cotton Candy Grapes. We are happy to say that there was no genetic engineering involved in this creation, and they are what we call 100% natural. They have an average of 12% natural sugar, making them significantly more sweeter than their fellow grape-friends.

Ongoing Development
Scientists and food engineers are constantly working on developing new varieties of fruit and vegetables, so our dinner table and grocery baskets never have a dull moment. There are new colors, shapes, and textures waiting for us to discover, and when it comes to creativity in the agricultural world, the sky’s the limit.
