For fine artists
If you are an artsy type, your adventure in the great city of Boston should start at the Museum of Fine Arts. It is the fourth-largest museum in the country and houses a beautiful collection of American art.
Take a trip through history
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is another nearby gallery that was constructed with inspiration from 15th-century Venetian architecture. Inside lies more than 2,500 pieces of art, from Chinese Han Dynasty sculptures to priceless Renaissance paintings. Visit on Sundays to catch classical music performed live.
Hey, what about food?
Food should be the least of your problems here. With so many restaurants newly opened, there’s no shortage of choices for tasty meals in Boston. Top Chef finalist Tiffani Faison opened Tiger Mama, a dining room featuring Southeast Asian favorites. She also owns Sweet Cheeks, a barbeque joint nearby.
Inmates — out, guests — in
The Liberty Hotel is a four-star property that sits on Charles Street in Beacon Hill and has been in operation since 1990. Before it was a hotel, this establishment was a 19th-century jail. Historic elements have been preserved to retain their character.
Cat ladies and cat gents are welcome
If you’re crazy about cats, Boston has something for you too. You can now dine and play with furry felines in the PURR Cat Cafe. All of the cafe’s fur friends are rescue cats, courtesy of Boston’s Forgotten Felines.
